Mary Haskett leads the training division of Ideal Innovations, Inc. and manages the Austin, Texas office. Before joining I-3, she founded HCI Training, a company focused on the design and development of custom training solutions. Mary successfully led the company for nine years, until Ideal Innovations acquired it in 2007. Over the years, she has worked to design and develop training for a number of end-clients including Dell, Sybase, and USAA, as well as the U..S Army and the U.S. Navy. Mary was nominated as one of the Austin Business Journals Profile to Watch in tech-savvy Austin in 2002. She has served on the boards of directors of the Austin chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), the Austin chapter of the Association for Internet Professionals (AIP), and the International Interactive Communication Society (IICS). She has presented at many training industry conferences and trade shows. including Online Learning, Training Directors Forum, Computer Training World, e-Learning, and SALT. Mary holds a Master's degree in Instructional Design from Texas A&M University, and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from The University of Texas at Dallas.

Ideal Innovations, Inc. won a software infrastructure project in Iraq, with e-Learning support for end-user training. Working with subject-matter experts who were time-shifted by nine hours, and across language and culture barriers, made for an interesting project. This article tells how the developers dealt with the challenges.
