Kim Naugle, Ph.D.

Kim Naugle, Ph.D., serves as the Associate Dean of the College of Education at Eastern Kentucky University. He is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology, and has served as the Department Chair of this department as well as of the Special Education Department. He is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, and is a Nationally Certified Counselor as well as being a Licensed Psychologist. He is actively involved in research, and has successfully published in many scholarly journals and presented extensively at the state, regional, and national level. He is very active in professional organizations, such as the American Counseling Association (ACA), Association of Counselor Educators and Supervisors (ACES), Southern Association of Counselor Educators and Supervisors (SACES), and the Kentucky Counseling Association (KCA).

Teacher Presence: Using Introductory Videos in Online and Hybrid Courses

E-Learning is always about people, not technology. Whatever helps learners connect with the content and each other is paramount, and the main way this happens in many courses is through an instructor. This article brings research to support this observation, and suggests that an introductory video could be essential to helping learners and their online instructor connect.
