Professor Steven J. Osterlind holds a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California, and is the Director of the Educational Psychology Program and Professor at the Department of Statistics in the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is also a Distinguished Research Professor at the National College of Ireland. His primary area is educational psychology, and his main research interests are psychometrics, test development, statistics, and Item Response Theory. Professor Osterlind has published widely on Assessment and is the author of several books including most recently Modern psychometrics: Development & application of modern mental measures (2005) published in New York by Prentice-Hall.
