Mahnaz Aflatooni Javid, Ed.D. has a doctorate in educational leadership, with focus on educational technologies, instructional design, and human-software interface. She is a recognized expert in integration of technology across disciplines to enhance learning, and has authored several articles in scholarly publications. She is presently Sr. Group Manager at Microsoft’s Enterprise & Partners Group (EPG) focused on readiness strategy and performance excellence for EPG worldwide. She has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, and is a frequent presenter at conferences focused on educational leadership.

Mahnaz is committed to, and has been involved in community service and social and economic development projects in the US, South and Central America, and Africa for the past 15 years. Currently, she serves as the President of Mona Foundation, www.monafoundation.org, a public non-profit that supports educational initiatives and raising the status of women and girls in several countries. She continues to teach as an adjunct faculty at the University of Washington.

Many e-Learning professionals think mainly in terms of delivering instruction in stand-alone packages, such as the traditional “course” or “module.” However, it is often more effective to deliver instruction and performance support wherever the learner happens to be, even if that place is most often inside another application. Microsoft has taken an innovative approach to this.
