Jeffrey C. Engelbrecht is a Senior Information Technology Engineer at the MITRE Corporation and has been a key architect for distributed learning programs since 1997. He holds a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Computer Science from Virginia Tech. Jeffrey has functioned as one of the key architects for the Marine Corps Distance Learning Program (MarineNet) since its creation in 1997. For the MarineNet program, he has been involved in virtually all aspects of distributed learning with particular focus on Learning Management Systems (LMS) and courseware integration and fielding. He was the lead developer of the Marine Corps’ first LMS and he has played a key role in the evaluation and selection of all successors. He was also the primary author of the Marine Corps technical courseware development manual. Currently at MITRE, Jeff leads the research on identifying the solution for implementing SCORM in the MarineNet architecture.
