Suzy Cox is currently working toward her Masters degree in Instructional Psychology and Technology at Brigham Young University and was recently accepted into the PhD program. Her interests in the field include usability, instructional design practice, and e-Learning. She is particularly concerned with the alignment of formal education programs with professional practice. Her thesis is a survey of professional instructional designers with respect to the use of their time and their professional preparation. Her dissertation will investigate the course offerings and faculty specialties of PhD programs in the field. Her undergraduate degree is in Spanish, also from BYU. After working for over two years as the Associate Production Manager and an Assistant Instructional Designer at BYU’s Center for Instructional Design, she is now a full-time student and stay-at-home mom. She also works part-time in the IP&T department. In her “spare time,” she enjoys running, reading, volunteering for her church, and spending time with her family.
