Michele Martin is an independent consultant specializing in using social
media tools to support learning, and career and professional development. For
the past ten years, she has worked with federal, state, and local government,
nonprofits, and corporations to design and deliver a variety of learning
interventions, using both on- and off-line strategies. Her experiences using
online tools to support learning began in the late 1990s when she hosted an
Internet radio show, and used forums, listservs, and a “virtual office” as part
of a 120-hour professional certification program. With the advent of tools such
as blogs, wikis, and social networks, she’s continued to integrate new
technologies to support both short- and long-term training programs.
