Watershed, the leader in learning analytics platforms, is excited to introduce its new product offerings, ranging from basic to advanced learning analytics as well as enterprise solutions. This includes the launch of Essentials—which provides out-of-the-box functionality, allowing users to quickly and easily get started collecting and exploring learning data outside a learning management system (LMS).

After recently sending a survey to more than 10,000 L&D professionals across the world, Watershed found the majority of respondents stated they want to use learning analytics to measure impact. However, they also reported that they have too many competing priorities preventing them from starting. Furthermore, those who want to embrace learning analytics don’t know how to get started.

“We want all L&D professionals to not only have access to all their learning data, but also to use that data to prove the value and impact of their programs,” said Mike Rustici, Watershed founder and president. “And because survey respondents said the hardest part about learning analytics is getting started, we created Watershed Essentials to provide an easy, affordable solution to track learning wherever it happens.”

What is Watershed Essentials?

Watershed Essentials delivers basic insights and is designed for L&D practitioners who want to start tracking and exploring learning outside an LMS. In fact, most organizations will be able to access intuitive reports about their learning data less than a week after implementing Watershed Essentials. The platform not only allows multiple options for getting data in and showing progress, but also serves as a foundation for organizations to build toward more robust learning analytics in the future. Additional product features include dashboard reporting and preconfigured reports that answer common questions about learners and their activities.

Experience Essentials at DevLearn 2016

Watershed Essentials will make its debut during DevLearn 2016 Conference & Expo, where guests are invited to visit Watershed at Booth 548 to learn more and see Essentials in action. It will also be featured the day before DevLearn begins during xAPI Camp on November 15. DevLearn 2016 will be held November 16 – 18 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

“DevLearn focuses on new possibilities in L&D technology,” Rustici said. “This makes it the perfect opportunity to launch Watershed Essentials and show people the modern learning ecosystem is no longer just an idea—it’s finally plug-and-play.”
