eThink Education, a certified Moodle Partner, announces that the new features and fixes of Moodle 3.2—including notable improvements to the user interface with the addition of Boost, Moodle’s new fully responsive theme, and multiple activity enhancements—are now becoming available to clients during scheduled upgrades.

Moodle’s previous update, the highly anticipated Moodle 3.1, included many new user-requested features and fixes such as support for competency-based education, enhancements to several activities, easy retrieval of deleted files, improved tagging and course editing, and expanded functionality within the Moodle mobile app.

Moodle 3.2 builds off the notable improvements of its predecessor with additional improvements to the Moodle mobile app, user interface, and various activities, and with helpful additions to the core theme.

The most visible feature of Moodle 3.2 is Boost, Moodle’s new default theme. Boost is a modern, fully responsive theme, allowing for easy customization. Thus, you can easily tweak the look and feel of your Moodle site to match your brand by including logos, brand colors, and making further edits with simple SCSS changes. Other notable Boost features are the new collapsible navigation drawer and the gear menu, which both allow for easier navigation and a cleaner, more compact user interface.

The User Tour feature, now available within the core theme, creates a customizable walk-through with overlay to guide users through the Moodle interface. This tool is perfect for introducing new users to Moodle, pointing out new features, introducing a specific course, or directing users to an important piece of the dashboard.

Improvements have also been made to various activities, including Choice, Forum, and Assignment. One major change to the Choice module is the ability for an instructor to make a choice for a student. Also, the core Forums module now includes a “discussion-locking” setting that can lock a forum after a designated period of inactivity. These new features, among other activity enhancements, continue to make Moodle more robust and flexible in response to user-requested features.

“eThink prides itself on ensuring that our clients are using current and up-to-date Moodle technology to ensure maximum adoption and learning success,” said Brian Carlson, CEO and co-founder of eThink Education. “We are excited to share the new Moodle 3.2 features with our clients so they may utilize and enjoy them within their own Moodle environments.”

eThink Education will be attending Learning Solutions 2017 Conference & Expo, March 22 – 24 in Orlando, Florida. Stop by Booth 416 to discuss recent eThink happenings, partnership opportunities, and more.
