[Press Release] aNewSpring, a Netherlands-based provider of online services that enable trainers to develop, maintain, and distribute innovative education products, announced today at DevLearn the international launch of the latest version of its self-service platform.
Now every trainer or training organization can easily create, maintain, and deliver adaptive eLearning themselves, without having to rely on outside content providers. As a result, even more employees and other learners can benefit from the advantages of personalized (e)learning.
New users can sign up for free; pricing is based on the number of learners who use the content. Information about signup and other details is available at: http://www.anewspring.com.
Adaptive learning
M. R. de Prez, managing director of the company, says, "aNewSpring helps people learn. That’s why we think it’s strange that learning is still 'one size fits all.' All students are unique with their own talents and learning strategies. Imagine how your students would benefit from a course that adapts to each individual. aNewSpring’s mission is to help people learn more effectively with truly personalized (e)learning."
In his 2010 speech at Ted.com, Sir Ken Robinson predicted that the next revolution in education will be totally personalized learning. He called upon technology companies to participate in this revolution which is partly made possible through the internet. The advantage of eLearning is that we get real time insight into students’ progress and results. Technology now makes it possible to utilize this data even better. Through data mining and algorithms, we can deliver training that adapts to each individual learner!
From a map to a GPS
Today’s eLearning can be compared to traditional roadmaps. There might be an indicated route, but you still have to find your own way. de Prez states, "In our vision, the next generation of eLearning should be more like navigation software. You set a personal goal and the platform will continuously make sure you stay on track by suggesting directions. When you encounter obstacles the route will automatically adjust to you."
Presentations at DevLearn 2011
At DevLearn, aNewSpring will give two presentations that demonstrate the new platform and its capabilities. The first one is about how to create adaptive learning paths with aNewSpring and EasyGenerator. The second one is about developing e-learning in the cloud and how adaptive learning can benefit from this.
