Rupen Sharma is currently working as an Instructional Designer with the Learning & Development team at the Sapient Corporation. He is responsible for analyzing, designing, and managing the creation of learning solutions catering to people working at Sapient. Apart from Sapient, Rupen has designed and developed learning solutions for a diverse adult audience for clients, such as Office Depot, Harrah’s Entertainment, Novell, NetG, and the Chubb Institute. In addition to instructional design, he has coordinated the offshore development of online courses, managed media and content development through vendors, and written technical articles.
By academic qualification, Rupen is a graduate in Electronics Engineering. He is also a Certified Novell Engineer and has worked as a Network Engineer primarily responsible for setting up and troubleshooting local area networks. This was before he got tempted by the seductive and complex world of creating effective training.
In the Instructional Design domain, Rupen’s current interest areas are “serious games,” modeling of complex simulations, and evaluating the effectiveness of training.
