Kelly Kirk is the Distance Education Program Director and Instructional Designer for the Health & Public Safety Division of Davidson County Community College (DCCC) in Lexington, North Carolina. With his help, DCCC has become North Carolina’s premier institution for Online Continuing Education in Emergency Medical Science, serving 3,000 students last year. In August of 2000, Kelly helped launch North Carolina’s first entirely online Paramedic Certificate to Associate Degree Bridging Program. Kelly has developed more than 60 online courses, and is currently responsible for coordinating over 100 online courses annually while managing the development and design teams for a variety of e-Learning projects. He provides professional development opportunities to his distance education staff through e-Learning in asynchronous and blended formats.
