Vince Cyboran, Ed.D, is an Assistant Professor in the Graduate Program in Training and Development at Roosevelt University in Chicago. He received his Doctor of Education degree with a specialization in Curriculum Studies from DePaul University. He has a broad background in training and development, with over 20 years of experience in the field, covering performance improvement, curriculum design, program development, and instructional design, especially for technology-based projects, for a variety of organizations. His research interests include the influence of reflection on employee empowerment and learning, and the use of language in technology-based learning.

Lesson Planning: The Missing Link in e-Learning Course Design

There is a “gap” in the e-Learning design process, especially for less experienced designers. With experience, bridging the distance between the design document and the storyboard becomes second nature, but the path is not well-documented. However, an idea borrowed from traditional education practices can ease the leap from broad outline and strategy to detailed sketch: the lesson plan.
