As Vice President, Education Strategy, Blackboard Inc, Gordon Freedman drives strategic initiatives and builds industry and institutional relationships in higher education and K-12. Gordon joined Blackboard from his consulting company, Knowledge Base, LLC, a provider of expert advice for transforming education through e-Learning, media, and enterprise technology. He has worked extensively with Higher Education and K-12 education corporations, institutions, foundations, and textbook publishers. Gordon serves on the Fairfax Education Foundation board, advises the North American Council for Online Learning, provided advice to the US Department of Education Office of Educational Technology, and consulted for the University of California. He led Prometheus, a course management system developed by George Washington University, to market prior to its sale to Blackboard, Inc. Gordon is cofounder of the International School of Monterey, a California charter school. He is an expert on virtual education in K-12, online learning in higher education, and digital textbooks.

These same concerns affect other nations as well.
